State Baseball Tournament - 9U AA STATE CHAMPIONS!!!

What a weekend it was!  Our Tigers baseball team went 6-0 in the Kansas AA State Baseball tournament for 9U, and they came out the big winners in the end.  Long 3 days, but the weather was mild, so mama and sis didn't melt. We had a great time. Lots of smiling faces. Lots of memories made.  Proud of how hard these boys and coaches have worked this year. They have come along way.  Three more league games and then this season is in the books. And next year? Well, sounds like they are moving us up to the top tier - AAA. Guess that what happens when you run rule your opponent in the state championship!

But first, here are some cute pictures of Crab Daddy. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack for dinner Saturday night. So good. And the kids were good sports to let us go there!

Crazy boys between games.

Hold on a sec while I get in position.

Eskimo Joes Tri-State Shoot Out CHAMPIONS

Well, we are a bridesmaid no more, our Tigers 9U baseball team finally won a tournament. It was a hot one, and a few close ones, but our boys pulled it out in the end. They were happy, happy, happy!  And I was in my favorite Stillwater, OK town, so mama was equally happy, happy, happy!
I'll let the pictures do the talking.
Hanging out waiting for our "Party of 26" to be called!

Um, are you kidding me? Marcus Smart just grabbing lunch at McAlisters Deli and we ran into him!!  Think I can grab a pic while you are here, Marcus?  Mama was thrilled!

Quick Trip to OK to visit cousins

The Texas Crew was headed to Oklahoma for a few days, and with a small break in our baseball schedule, I could get the kids down there to play for a bit, and then pick them up on my way back from an appointment.

Here are some cute pictures from their visit there.  And video's of a sweet, sweet boy, who's looks are deceiving, cause he is ornery as all get out!!!

Week 1

So the challenge was accepted last week, and I am trying to tell as many people as possible so everyone can hold us responsible.  It takes a village, right?

We issued a challenge to Beau that started on Monday. If he would complete Couch to 5K with me this summer, read two books, and limit his coveted "desserts" this summer, then he would get a dog before his 10th birthday.  Or should I say, "we" get a dog.  And he accepted the challenge. I knew he wanted a dog, but honestly, I wasn't quite sure it was a strong enough will to want to go outside and run three times a day.

But so far.....week 1 is in the books.  Week 1 consists of a lot more walking than running, but so far, he has done great. I am proud of him.  Wish us luck as we go through this journey this summer. We are going to need it, but we hope to come out of it healthier and with a PUPPY!!!

Our first night of running. In the rain. Wish it rained every night to keep us cool!!

Oklahoma Strong

It has been hard to process all of this devastation from the tornado's in Oklahoma recently. It makes me sad for so many families in my home state.  It has had me worried for my family's safety.  It has made me think,  "what would we do if one of those displaced families was us?"  Could I be that strong?  Then I think, "what if I had been in my car stuck in the middle of those storms?"  Would I have known what to do?

It definitely has struck close to home, knowing many people who lost barns and animals, even as recently as last night.  I have had so many accounts that have stepped up to help displaced animals, or families. Even my company has stepped in and donated boots, clothes, socks, and money.  It is great to be a part of a giving organization.

Still, though, I wish I could do more.  Today as Beau was complaining about spending time with us running errands, we had a gentle talk with him that we are very fortunate to be together, with a roof over our head, and knowing tonight where we are going to lay our heads - in the comfort of our very own bed.

Anyway. We continue to pray for the great state of Oklahoma. #healOK  #oklahomastrong
