Ribbie

Oh RBI; Ribbie;  Ribbie Trey Grant.

Everyone reading this.....let it be known.....I am IN LOVE with this dog.  Like hook, line, and sinker. Smitten.  He gets away with murder, and I can't bring myself to scold him. He is so sweet, and such a little ornery puppy. I love every inch of him.

The kids do too, and don't let him fool you, Dad thinks he is pretty great too.

I can't remember if it was Beau or Brenley, but one of them said, he just completes our family. And he does.  It's that simple. He completes our family.

We got him neutered last week and that was a bit traumatic (for me), and him having to wear the cone of shame was heartbreaking, but he managed through it.  He has been home with me all week and I know he misses his friends at Playcare. But he got the green light to come back to play care next week, and he is healthy and ready to go!

As fitting to his name, he likes baseball.
He likes Brenley's babies.
He LOVES to sit on the porch and play watch guard.
He likes walks and sniffing poop.
Like a Grant, he LOVES to eat.  Nom Nom Nom - it's gone.
His new favorite pastime is waiting for me to drop food when I fix lunches in the morning or fix dinner in the evenings. Always at my feet.  He can snap up a cheesy Dorito chip faster than his brother Beau can, and that's saying something.

We love him, and he completes us.  He brings us a lot of joy, and broken toys, and a messy house.  We are learning to embrace all of it.

Beau Grant

Basketball season came to a close for Beau (thank goodness), and we went right into Baseball.  Opening weekend of baseball was beautiful weather wise, but definitely could have ended with a better outcome to the games. Oh well. Plenty more games to watch and redeem ourselves.

Beau also had a music concert. His LAST ONE EVER!!  He was so excited.  His Mom?  Not so much.  He did very good, though.

He is in there somewhere, I promise. I should have edited these pictures before I uploaded.  He has his hands folded in front of him and with the light on his face, you can't see his glasses.
Beau also liked the Aquarium.  He got to touch Stingray's, feed something, I can't remember.  ha ha But he definitely likes stuff like that, so it was good to see him get into it.

Swimming underneath the sharks!

And that's my Beau.  We should get report cards tomorrow, but I think he should get all A's, maybe one B, which is great.  His last nine weeks as a 6th grader.  Wow, wow, wow.

Brenley's Comings and Goings

Before I get to Spring Break happenings, Brenley had her first official music concert, and as we assumed, she did AMAZING!  She told us very little about the songs. We knew the theme, which was right up her alley, but that's about it.  So seeing her come up to the front of the stage for two songs --- we were so proud!  She took it all in stride.

Cute girl in the middle with the pink feather.

New Song.  Playing a bear here.

Spring Break isn't fancy for us around here. Maybe some year we will venture on a trip, but for now, we like quick getaways, and for kids to spend time with Grandparents. And honestly, they are good with that, which makes me so happy.

So while on Spring Break, I took Brenley to Disney on Ice.  She liked it, didn't love it, but said it was okay.  She is just not your typical Princess loving girl, I guess! Sorry for the terrible picture, but all you can snap are pictures from your phone.

Then we all headed to the Oklahoma Aquarium and then to an Arcade/Pizza place in Tulsa, OK. I think they both liked that.

always reading the map. we need to know where we are going.

Then we made some cupcakes between the grandparent visits. You know, she is going to grow up to be a baker!  Look down in the corner of the picture. He is waiting for her to drop one!

We got our haircut, furnished with some glitter spray and a stylish braid.

We also started a new morning routine, which consists of her reading a Children's Daily Devotional.  I absolutely love it. This child is so smart, and so special.  I love her heart.

Um..... it's been way too long since I've posted!

Wow!  Where is the time going?  I remember vividly thinking on January 1st (after a rather stressful, but fruitful end of the year)..... if I can just make it to the end of March....I'll be okay.

And while yes, I made it to the end of March, and I did pretty decent in my new work position, I am tired.  I'm behind in doing the things that I love (blogging about my kids, reading books, etc), but I did it.  I made it - with a new dog, a husband that still  loves me (I think), and two kids that seem to be in one piece (at least looking at the outside of them!).

I didn't miss anyone's birthday.  I had food in the fridge (most of the time).  School work got turned in. Concerts and games were attended.  And then a few things went by the way side.... my husband would tell you I didn't hang up a laundered piece of clothing for a good three weeks....and he would be correct.  My kitchen cabinets are a mess from an eleven year old that pays zero attention to where things go when putting clean dishes away. I didn't get pictures taken of my birthday girl like I had wanted, but she didn't seem to mind.  So ya know.....I'm definitely not Mom of the year, but we did it.

Now is time for a little reflection on the last 30+ days.  Entries will be by kid, which as per my usual ammo......saves me time.  And we all know if I am anything, I am efficient, and I give big kudos to Amazon Prime shopping for helping me be so efficient. ha ha ( if I can't buy something on amazon and get it tomorrow, i am probably NOT going to buy it).  It's called efficiency!
