The day Bren wore flip flops
I have wanted Brenley to wear flip flops since birth (practically!). Today not only is she wearing them but walking and running in them. Earlier this week, she shuffled. But I would say now she has got the flip flop sound down!!!! And does she look like Miss Sporty Spice here or what?? Mama loves grey T-shirts!!
Creativity
So for those of you that don't know..... I am "in-between" jobs right now. No worries. It was of my doing. Completely my choice, and also no worries, I have something else lined up that I can't really talk about right now until it gets inked..... BUT.... what this has allowed me to do is complete a lot of projects that I have wanted to do for a long time. Now that I have had some time off, I can cook nice dinners for my family, finish picture projects, clean, and make sock puppets. That's right. I said it. I made a dog sock puppet for a project that Beau had at school. And my mommy would be so proud..... I even sewed and hot glue gunned it! I am a regular Suzy Homemaker. The funniest part is when I was leaving work, everyone was like, have a great time staying home with your kids!! And I was like....what do these people think...that I am going to go home and cut out paper hearts with my kids? Good grief. That's not me. But looky here......it's not paper hearts, but I think I'm coming pretty close to it!
So...here are some of my recent "creations." More to come, of course, maybe even a paper heart (or egg!) garland.... :)

Night out at the ballpark
One nice result of the Gene Stephenson baseball camp was getting a free ticket to the Friday night WSU baseball game. It was a BEAUTIFUL evening (little chilly toward the end, but the kids didn't seems to notice). The boys that participated in camp got to be on the field with their favorite players while the National Anthem was played. It was really neat, and a great experience for the boys. I think their favorite part was the fact that they were playing the Long Beach Dirt Bags. Dirt Bags....what?? That was a big joke.
And I'll never boast about being a Shocker fan, but it was fun to support them for this game.

WSU Shocker Baseball Camp
We've spent the first three morning's of Spring Break at the Gene Stephenson Baseball Camp, or I just call it WSU Shocker Baseball Camp, since not every one of my reader's know's this legendary Wichita coach.
Anyway, it was for baseballers age 7-12. Beau had teammates that went last year and he and his Dad checked it out last year and decided to attend this year. It was supposed to be outdoors on the Shocker field, but with rain EVERY DAY, they held it indoors at their amazing practice facility.
He had a great time working with the college players. They were good to the boys and taught them fundamentals as well as making it fun.
Today ended with autograph signings and a free t-shirt. Friday night (weather permitting?!?) they get to attend a WSU baseball game and go out on the field and stand with the players during the National Anthem. Hope the skies stay clear!
I enjoyed spending the time with him. Usually his Dad always does the sporting stuff with him, and truth be told, Beau prefers it, but Mom was available this time, so Mom got to partake, and I loved it.

Tiger Basketball - Finally, we are D-U-N!
We lost track after 20, but we are pretty sure Beau played over 30 basketball games this season for the Tigers - including Fall and Winter seasons. That is a lot of sore butts on this Mama's part, but I really did love every minute of it. He really enjoyed the game this year, and improved so much. I think I say that every year, but his confidence level was raised, his dribbling improved, charging to the basket as the big man on the post - it all fell together this year and I am really proud of him. And a big shout out to my husband who took him to two practices each week. I pitched in every once in awhile, but he did the lion's share of it. And to Brenley May, little girl, you were a trooper!

An Impromptu Visit Home
We decided to head home to Oklahoma on Sunday to see our Texas Family who had come home to visit Me Ma and Pa Pa at the beginning of their Spring Break. Brooke then decided to celebrate Blake's Birthday a few weeks early since everyone was together. It really was an awesome day together. What started out a dreary rainy day, ended up being a brisk sun shiny day. And the odd part was that in Wichita, it remained rainy and dark all day. I told Beau on the way home that God must have known we were all going home so he gave us a glorious day so we could celebrate outside. Beau said, "I think you are right, Mom. It was a perfect day." Indeed, it was!
| Part of the Crew. Beau, looking, well, like Beau. |
