August week 4 - week in review

The kids had another good week. So proud of how hard they are working and falling into a nice groove.

Let's see...
Beau made the 7th grade A football team as the starting center. He was introduced at a pep assembly Thursday. He had to wear his jersey and non-athletic shorts to school. He and his Dad had to hit the Dillards clearance racks Wednesday night for cargo shorts. He HATES shorts or pants with buttons, but man he looks cute! All 7th grade Fall sport team members were introduced Thursday evening to parents, and then they had mini scrimmages between the A and B teams. He looked ready! #56. Definitely a number for the starting center!

Then he was able to put in his new contacts by himself - another huge win! He was soooo proud of himself!

Sister earned a Rockstar behavior award this week, which earned her a privilege of choice. She picked eating lunch with a friend in the classroom. The teacher snapped a pic for me. She is making new friends and that thrills me. This is Carlee. Isn't she cute?

We also had a really nice lunch out today to celebrate the week. To go to this new restaurant, we made Beau wear a collared shirt and his new cargo shorts. So handsome!! And this restaurant has these new electronic stations where you can play games. It entertained my crew while we waited.

Sister also got her hair cut today. We ended up going a little shorter than we planned, but I love it!! We were fighting over tangles so I think this will be so much better!

Love these babes of ours!

When We Grow Up - Class of 2026

I'm not sure I could love this anymore if I tried. Brenley came home with this today. All her classmates with signs of what they will be when they grow up. My Gardener.....

School Year 2015/2016

And so it begins....

Brenley May is in the 2nd grade. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Harden and so far, she loves her! At Meet The Teacher night she had so energy and positivity! I was immediately impressed.

Day 1 Brenley came home telling me that Mrs. Harden was the nicest woman in the  world! I think we have a keeper for the school year! She also really likes her Music teacher. At least we are off to a solid start!

Beau starts the 7th grade. A year that begins school sports as well. He also came home excited about his schedule and his teachers. He has been a little disappointed that his best buds are not in any of his classes nor his lunch period, but he is adapting okay. He has three lockers (and combinations) to keep up with - one for school, one for PE, and one for Football - but we think (hope) he can adapt okay.

I'm already so proud of these kids and I wish them a very happy and fun and successful school year!

Weekend in OKC

Took a quick family trip to OKC for a quick family getaway before school started. Shopping, Dodgers game, KD's restaurant, and the Bombing Memorial. Anytime we can just be together as a family is always precious time.

Beau is 12!!!!

I cannot believe our baby boy is 12. He makes us crazy sometimes, but overall, he is really a great kid. He has genuine concern about other people, he is getting so personable around others. He is starting to like golf, which we love! His sports trivia and general sports knowledge is amazing to me. How he knows such detail is really impressive.

He makes his sister crazy. He is nutso about his dog (as we all are). He admires his Dad to no end. And every once in awhile, he wants the biggest and longest hugs from his mama.

Oh. And this boy loves to eat and has a sweet tooth that rivals his mama's!

I love every inch of him.

And just like that..... Summer 2015 is over

Holy moly. Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday I was on care.com trying to find some help getting Beau around to camps in June.... And now......kids are back to school.

So what did we do? Actually, besides baseball, we didn't do a lot more outside of that, which is a little disappointing. Now, don't get me wrong... We tried to make sure the kids were busy and engaged and happy..... But did we vacation? No. Did we have fun little weekend getaways? Not really. But we did manage to head to OKC for a quick trip to celebrate Beau's birthday.

I'll get to those pictures later. In the meantime, here is some randomness....
