OSU Football Game #1

We were not lucky for the Cowboys today, but is always fun to take in a game in Stillwater, OK!

And then we snuck into Gallagher-Iba for a quick look!

Freshman Football

Trying to find the right words to describe Freshman Football at Maize South High School, and I'm struggling to find the positive and optimistic words.  Lots of parent meetings, lots of meals, lots of hype around the Football family. Yeah, I guess there was that, but Freshman are definitely not a part of the greater team, and it was a bit of a disappointment. Now, that is my perspective. Not my husbands, not my son's. I think Beau struggled a bit finding his new position since Center is not going to be his role anymore, therefore as his Mom I really struggled embracing this new "community" we were thrown into.  He loved the camaraderie.  And our actual high school team was pretty good, but Freshman, while you may technically be in high school......um, well, let's see you next year as JV sophomores.

In any event, always proud of Beau. For going out for the team, for being a great team member.  Here's hoping he finds his way in Fall 2018.

BTS Carnival

The biggest fundraiser for Maverick Football was their Back To School Carnival. Beau had to work it. Brian and I had to work it. Sis got to have fun.  It was a fun evening all around. :)

Look top under the green stripe. See the head on the left. This is Beau "working."

This was a different day, but the Wiener Mobile was at our grocery store! So fun.

And this is a fur baby sunning himself while his momma ate her lunch outside. The weather has been amazing lately. Such a mild August in comparison.

First Day of School 17/18

Summer is finally over.  Always glad to get back to a schedule. I think I must be one of those weird Mom's that like routine!  Don't get me wrong........it's nice to take breaks from homework and packing lunches..........but it's also nice to get everyone out of the house.........especially when you work from home!

Both kids are so easy to get up. They get going on their own, make their own lunch, get dressed and are ready.  With the occasional reminder to brush their teeth, they make things pretty easy for us.  Really very blessed with them when it comes to this.

Their first day of 4th grade and first day of high school was a success.  Bren likes her teacher, Miss Green. Miss Green is a first year teacher with a lot of energy, which is great!  Beau thinks high school will be better than middle school. He starts his day in Weighlighting  "class" and ends the day with Football practice.

Here's to a great year, my lovelies!  Make good choices - every day.

Here's some throwback first day of school pics that pop up on Facebook.  These bring such a smile to my face.

Beau is 14!

Doesn't seem possible that our first born should be 14 years old and entering high school. The memory of him being born and Brian and I feeling so lost and unprepared is still very fresh. It's a similar feeling to today trying to figure out how to raise a teenager.

But nonetheless..........we blinked and 14 years have already gone by. Only four more years will he live under our roof. Goodness!

He celebrated his birthday week going to lots of NBC baseball games. Getting balls and autographs from the Stars All Star team.

Chipper Jones and the kid in front of him is Beau!

He also got to eat his favorite meals out and spent time with his buddies. Jumping at Urban Air, dinner at Emerson Biggens and then over to spend the night.  I think he had a good birthday. At least I hope he did. Our love to you on your birthday and always, Beau Charles. XOXO

YMCA Horse Camp

This was Brenley's second week of Horse Camp. The first time she only got to go 4 days because Speech Camp was on the 5th day.

This last week, however, was their grand finale Rodeo, of which she got to participate.  The video at the bottom is the "rodeo" part of Camp.

I think she did AMAZING! What a little girl for such a big horse. Week 1 the horse's name was Chucky. This last week was Big John. At the end you hear the trainer go, I've never seen Big John lope! He is an older horse, so he doesn't have as much giddy up and go, but look at this girl on him. She is a natural equestrian!!

Made my heart happy.
