March of Dimes Walk 2016

Year #13 for us.  Proud of that accomplishment as we have been fundraising and walking for the March of Dimes for 13 years. It has changed from Topeka to Wichita, and from venue to venue. And with baseball tourney's sometimes complicating matters......and this particular weekend we had rain......we still managed to get it in. This year dogs were invited, so of course, we took our fur baby.

Trip to Stillwater

So in the middle of the hectic last few months, we did have an open weekend in April where we headed to Stillwater to give the two Pistol Pete's their custom cowboy boots - made by Ariat.  We also took in an OSU baseball game and ate at our favorite places. Always a good time in Stillwater, Oklahoma!!

Bren's School Field Trip to the ZOO

Starting to wind down the year and the beloved school field trip this year was to the Sedgwick County Zoo!

Daddy volunteered to go and help parent a group of kids. He had no idea every other school in the district would also be there on a field trip when he arrived. LOTS of kids to filter through, but he found his group, found his daughter, and they were off.

Brian sent me this picture and promised me these were pants when she started. She had pulled them up to be shorts. Too hot!

Beau's Baseball Team Won a Tournament ?

I say this in jest.  To say that this team plays inconsistent is a bit of an understatement. There have been several times where it has literally been hard to watch.  Beau has done very well this year....his team, though, just doesn't have the experience, or as Beau calls it, the same Baseball IQ as he has.  I cannot argue with either.

But.....they did manage to win a tournament, and I was glad to see that for Beau to get some hardware this year. It definitely has been great watching him develop as a pitcher and he is really cracking the bat this year. So yeah.....it's not all bad.

Easter - March 26th, 2016

Easter. I love it.  Love the holiday because it requires no gifts, no hustle. Just family time and fun. You hope for a beautiful spring day, and that's it.

This year was another fun year of Easter egg hunting, confetti eggs, and Grandma's general store where you redeem your egg money.  It was great food, and just always, always fun to be together. The kids are just growing way.too.fast!!!

Beau and "his boys"

Beau has a really good set of friends and while they are all very different, they get along really well. We like their parents also. I hope the boys stay friends through high school.

Beau got the opportunity to actually play in a basketball tournament with all of them, including another good friend of his that doesn't go to his school.

So for not making the school team this year, this was a fun time for him.

These are Beau's "boys"..... which is Keaton (6) his best friend, Garrett (2),  Colin (20), and his non-school friend, Nolan (5).

Reflecting

I cannot believe it has been so long since I sat down to blog. That part makes me sad, because I've done so well these last 8 years keeping up with everything......and well, life has me busier than ever. I haven't forgotten about blogging.....I think it has been on my weekend "to do" list since March.....it's just not getting prioritized high enough.

Since I am determined that I will not drop blogging from my to do list......I'm hoping with the recent shift in our household responsibilities that I can convince my husband to take on this role - even if it is just for the summer. How great would that be for the kids to look back on this record years and years from now and read about their lives from their Daddy's words.

With that being said.....I've got some catching up to do.  The next few posts may be brief, but I think I can capture what I need too ..... to capture the essence of my Beau and Bren....and maybe a little of my fur baby too.
