Christmas Part 1 and 2

December has been such a blur and a lot different than previous Decembers. A lot of travel. No basketball games for Beau. No school holiday parties or programs for the kids. No Santa visits or light displays. But yet, it still went by so quickly, but never quite felt like Christmas with such warm temps. But nevertheless, two excited kids made sure we remembered Christmas.

Before we get too far, Ribbie did meet Santa this year at Northridge..... Not a fan.

And his Christmas came early when we got him this bench to peek out the window.

Yeaterday, we spent the day in McPherson and even Santa stopped by for a visit!!!

Beau was mortified this picture would make social media, but his Mom will keep this back in case I need to bribe him on something.....

Ribbie still not a fan....

Sis was happy she got her 1,552 piece Lego set. Her excitement was contagious.

This morning we woke up to see what Santa left and open a few presents. Beau got tickets to Sunday night's Thunder basketball game. Sis got another Lego set with a mini futon for her play area. I think Santa came through okay.

Ribbie got a new doggie bed in shape of Boone Pickens stadium. He has yet to take the field.

Christmas part 3 starts tomorrow!!

In case I haven't mentioned this....

Our dog rules our world.

Our adult vacation

Even typing "adult vacation" makes me laugh. So yeah. Brian and I went on an all expense paid vacation to Punta Cana Dominican Republic. I earned the trip through work. It was hard to turn down even though it took some maneuvering to pull off between our work and the kids school and other activities.

And we had a nice time. I wouldn't say we loved it and can't wait to go back, but we enjoyed the time together.  We zip lined and kept our toes in the sand. But we won't lie, we were ready to be home to see our kids.

I think one of the more interesting things was traveling internationally. Going through customs. Filing out forms. I was definitely over that part of the travel!!!

We didn't take a ton of pictures, but here are a few....

O-State vs TCU football game

We were privileged enough to attend another Oklahoma state football game this season, again in a suite box. This time our seats were a little better!! Beau was also able to invite his sports loving friend, Nolan. And Bren got to stay with MeMa so it was a win win all around.

It was an amazing game. Such a great game to witness. We love our Cowboys!!!

Our suite box was inside Gallagher Iba. At one point, Beau came over to us and asked if he and Nolan could break into Gallagher Iba. Nolan thought he knew a way!! Lol!!!

Halloween 2015

I can't believe it's the last day of October, Halloween, and Daylight Savings. Wow! Already!

To celebrate Halloween, Brenley had a Fall party at school yesterday. She kept hugging me, and telling me how happy she was that I was there. Tug at my heart strings, why don't you?!!!

Then tonight, she went trick or treating with her friend Brody and Tinley. They went around on a hack rack ride with some other friends. She had a great time and they were so nice to invite us.

But of course, here she is with her other best friend.

Basketball and baseball - Beau

Oh yeah.....he did play two other sports this Fall.  Basketball on Saturday's (practice on Sunday's) and Baseball on Sundays (practice during the week when we could make it).

Baseball was with his new team the Stars.  We didn't play in a very tough league, but it was great to get the boys together to see how they would mesh, get evaluated, etc.  Beau didn't see a lot of great pitches, but when he did, man, he ripped them good.  He got to pitch several times and played a ton of first base. For those reasons alone, we are glad we have switched teams, at least for this year.  We will see. Spring will be here before you know it.

He also committed to basketball to keep his skills sharp.  We've known the coach and several of the kids on the team for a long time. We are glad he had this opportunity.

Their season technically ended last weekend, but the coach kept the practices up because SCHOOL TRYOUTS ARE TOMORROW!!!!  Pray for our boy.  50+ kids trying out for 20 spots.  It's okay with us if he doesn't make it, but it will be hard on him. He likes playing ball.

We told him.....work as hard as you can, and don't hold anything back this week. We shall see!

This is Brenley and Christian.  His brother and Beau are good friends and Christian is also in the 2nd grade at MSE.

Talking and swinging.  That's a good life right there.

After practice playing 4 square??? Silly boys.

Football is over .. we love our #56

So 7th grade football wasn't great....... They finished 2-5 (I think - I'm sure Brian will correct me).
Beau started at Center all year. He did what he needed to do, but there was just NOT a ton of experience on the team, and well, maybe a lack of heart and passion overall..... But hey, he tried out, made it, and got through it. And for that, we are super proud of him.
