Pink Out for Football

Beau's football team donned their Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The boys looked great in their pink numbered jersey's, shoelaces and socks.

Beau added sun strips and wrist bands to complete his look.

The team won big time and they even used a running clock the entire second half because we were winning by so much.

Beau had THE.BEST.HIT I have ever seen him make. He was in on defense but his teammate had just made an interception so he was just looking for someone to hit to help give his guy a path to the goaline. He ducked his shoulder and WAM! Big kid fell down! So proud of him and that hit!!! He also got to run the ball - that's how bad we were beating them. He ran the ball for two plays and got some yards. Great experience for him.

Beautiful football weather!!!
We talked a lot about why they are wearing pink and my friend's fight against this cancer. He played in Heather's honor. So proud.

Little bit random to close out September

As I am writing this, my husband has his son on the ground poking his chest, trying to prove a point to stop teasing his sister. Beau is screaming like a girl. Bren is laughing. It's loud in here. I love it.

It has been a great family day and weekend. It certainly helps that the weather is amazing right now.

Beau's football team is 4-0 to start the season. He was a captain on Saturday.

He survived his first 5th grade parent teacher conference and 6 weeks into the school year, he has all A's.

Bren just finished her monthly dance class and loved it. She lost another tooth (getting toothless), and we found out at the dentist this week (during a normal 6 month check up), that she is missing one adult tooth. She has a fused baby tooth and underneath those two fused teeth, is only one adult tooth. Both our dentist and my friend that is a dentist said, and I quote, "save for orthodontia."

And to capture this moment....we all ended up in our bed this morning and we started telling jokes. Dumb jokes, but the kids (mostly Bren) was giggling so much that we all got to laughing. It was infectious and I loved it. What a wonderful way to start the day. So blessed.

State Fair 2013

It was a hot one this year!! We've been so lucky in years past, and probably would have been better off going this weekend (weather is a lot nicer), but it was convenient last Saturday because we went after Beau's football game.

So here are some pic's of the kids. They aren't great, but we did have a really great time. Kids were happy so that's all that mattered!

Star of the Week goes to....

Brenley May Grant!!

The first kid chosen as the Northridge Academy's Kindergarten star (student) of the week was our girl!!!

So proud of her. Each day she got to do a little something special. Monday was taking her favorite book, stuffed animal and her very own solo show and share.

We got to eat lunch with her on Thursday. And she got to be a chef today and whip together a special treat for her friends. She has had a fun week being able to take center stage.

Like clock work....

The first of the month rolls around. I guess I should be thankful for being here to see another day, but at the same time I just need time to slow down a bit. Although, allow me to speak out of both sides of my mouth as I don't particularly like the summer heat. What I do love is sweaters, football games, colored leaves, and all that comes with the fall weather - not this 100 degree stuff we've been having. So I am looking forward to that.
September brings not only Saturday football games for Beau and my OSU Cowboys, but fall baseball for Beau on Sunday's. Dance class for Bren on Saturday.  The state fair - yeah! And more travel for Mom.

But for today, we'll enjoy our Sunday and Labor Day tomorrow. And then from there, we will buckle down for Fall 2013!

Look at this cheeseball with her missing tooth! Just wish she would lose that other one now so they can grow in together!!!
