A new nephew arrived in our world on April 11th, 2010. His name is William Douglas Grant, born to Brian's brother Kyle and his wife Kate, and big brother Lucas (aka Luke) Cooper Grant.
He joined the world at 5:21am, and was 9 pounds and 4 ounces, and was 19 inches long ( Go Mama!). He is so cute. Dark hair, dark skin, full lips.......and never makes a sound unless he is hungry! He's just beautiful and all is well in their family as they adjust to having another one around.
Brenley and Beau were super excited to meet him. Brenley says "Baby Vill" all the time, and Beau called him Willy, which I think is pretty cute, but he will be going by Will!!
Joy, joy and blessings galore!

Easter in Oklahoma
Nostalgia. Glorious weather. Chocolate on our face. Lots of laughs. Family. Jesus Christ our Savior.
We had a beautiful Easter weekend in Oklahoma. Besides the weather, it was great being together as always. The kids get bigger every time we see them. More grown up, or talking more clear, or just funnier.
Saturday we all pulled into town in the afternoon. We got down to business with an Easter egg hunt. We had two heats. One for the small kids.........one for the big kids. Our oldest "kid" bowed out. Too cool, I guess. Look how beautiful she is, though. We all love that first granddaughter and niece, and remember the day like it was yesterday when we ALL followed her around while she hunted for eggs.
Here is a picture of Carter and Brenley hunting eggs. Carter had more help than he needed, and Brenley was off to the races!
Then it was the "big kids" turn to hunt eggs.......
Here is the group counting their "loot."
And then afterward, we came inside for a yummy supper, and then Lori and myself drove Makayla out to meet up with a guy friend of hers. She was introduced to this boy through her Me Ma. They are the same age, and his parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles are old and dear friends of our family. In fact, I drove out there to see my dear friend Shellie, who I haven't seen in 16 or 17 years, maybe?!? It was wonderful to see her, meet her husband and their one year old daughter. And then I got to see their little brother Justin, who is not so little anymore. I mean...I used to babysit these too.........talk about feeling old! But it was really wonderful to see the faces of such a wonderful family and dear friends. I loved it.
Meanwhile, back at the "ranch," the crew went to see Uncle Robert, they rode the lawnmower, they hopped in the back of a pick up truck and rode around town............all the fun stuff you get to do in a small town.
Finally, after playing outside until it was pitch black, we went inside and watched Blind Side. What a great day and night to be together.
Sunday morning brought out our Easter best and we headed to church. More nostalgia as we walked around downstairs of the church where I spent so much time going to Sunday school and teaching Sunday school. Then back upstairs the "little" boys that I used to teach in Sunday school are now grown men, serving as Deacons in the church. The Elders are now their fathers. It was cool.
The kids were AH-Mazing at church, all things considered. Cassidy and Alyson were asked to light candles. Blake was mad he didn't get to have a snack (aka. communion). Brenley zonked out in Grandma's arms. And Beau played tic-tac-toe with Alyson. Lovely memories of a lovely day.
Back to Me Ma's house for another yummy lunch and then we hit the road. Just a fantastic Easter weekend!

Brenley's Easter party at school
Brenley's last day of school before Easter was on Thursday. They had a party to celebrate. Love our sweet cheeks! Here she is pondering.........
Coming alive with her girlfriend Harper - "one cute chick" - so her shirt says.
Chowing down..........err...........at least her friends are.
This would be Blake (he loves his dresses), his twin sister Kaitlyn, and of course Brenley, and Harper again.
KA-UTE kiddo's....

Palm Sunday in McPherson
The Grant Family got together today to celebrate Easter. The day ended up sunny and bright. We went to church together and marched in with our palms. Then we headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's for an Easter egg hunt and lunch. It is always nice to spend time with family. Here are some shots of the fun day!

Catching Up/Spring Break
We didn't have big plans for Spring Break, mostly because we aren't the vacationing type, but Brian also had to travel this week. So I took two days off this week to spend some time with the kids and my Mom and two nieces.
My oldest niece Makayla is turning 14 tomorrow (say it isn't so!) and we went shopping for some clothes for her. And her sister Courtney came up to visit also (Grandma, my Mom, drove them). So we shopped, did hair, and played outside. Couldn't have asked for nicer weather and better company.
These pictures are of my naked, potty training daughter throwing a fit. Not sure what the fit was over, because we throw a lot of them these days! Ah......the joys of being a 2 year old princess!

Beau's Music Program~~~~The Lion Tamer
Whew! What an evening. Ms. Jean called at 5:00 to tell us Brenley was running a 101.5 temp, but I was already on my way to pick up the kids. I got there and she was miserable. Red rimmed eyes, wouldn't talk, and just cried and cried and cried. We get home, get Beau dressed (his program started at 6:30, he needed to be there at 6:15). So I made the decision to get Brenley to immediate care and get her some medicine stat. So off we went, bound and determined to make it to Beau's program before it ended. At this point, mind you, it's 5:40.
Okay, so we get there. Ear infection. They script her electronically, and we are off to the school. I call Brian, find out the seats and Brenley and I RUN into the school building (it's 6:28 at this point). We sit down right before the teacher goes on the stage to introduce the kids. And the show begins.
It was a Circus Theme with different groups spread across two nights and four programs. Each group had about 3-4 classes in it. Beau's class were the lions and elephants. Another class were the clowns. And one class sold popcorn and cotton candy. Beau, however, played a special part and that was of the Lion Tamer (black jacket with tails and gold sequins!). His friend Nathan was the ring master and boy were they cute!
Beau did a FANTASTIC job. Singing and throwing his lion taming whip. We were so proud of him. We celebrated with Burger King kids meal and we were glad to be home.
Sister got her medicine and was out like a light and not sure if she or her Daddy more enjoyed staying home the next day.
And finally, today is March 6th. My baby girl is 25 months old. I'm going to stop making the monthly updates on her, but I'll make sure I capture each precious first moment of her and her brother's young lives!
