Beau got on a new 13u baseball team this season called The Tribe. Turned out to be a pretty good team. Beau really improved this year in all aspects, but especially pitching. He hit the ball really well this season also. He was awarded several game MVP's in various tournaments that we played in for both his offense and defense. However, I think we are most proud of his leadership and teamwork on the field. He knew he was one of the better players on this team, and it instilled a whole new level of confidence in him. Plus, he looks great in a baseball uni. Proud of this kid.
The season ended early July. There are two videos at the end of this. Let's hope they work.
P.S. Looking back at these pictures it reminds me of a couple things:
1) I need a better camera that zooms. iPhone pics are only okay in a pinch
2) I have to keep updated with the blog in real time. These pic's are in no particular order. I just liked them all and wanted to post them all. Some are from my phone and some are from Dad's, and well, you remember that time Mom was getting mad at her computer for not uploading pictures. Yeah. there is that too. Sorry, Beau. Your Mom tried.
Well, between the HS Freshman working the Fireworks stand for his Football Fundraiser and our daughter who wanted to pop fireworks for the first time in your childhood (???)......we had a great 4th. Ribbie did too.
I think Bren is having a pretty good summer. More to come in a few posts about Speech Camp and Horse Camp. In the meantime, though, she has taken on Piano lessons, kept up with her brother at the ballpark, and got to see her grandparents - not nearly as often as she would like I might add.
Have I mentioned Beau has a soft spot in his heart for those that battle disabilities? Or maybe they are just unique kids that beat to their own drum. Well, Beau finds a way to befriend them, and it is one of his most endearing qualities. It's not learned, it's innate. And we love it.
Meet Ashton. Ashton was in the 8th grade at MSMS, and he and Beau got along very well. He wanted Beau to come watch him play baseball in his special needs league. This is them together after Ashton's game.
And this happens to be two of Beau's biggest fans......his cousins Brandon and Tyler. This was after their baseball game in McPherson. Great smiles all around.
It's crazy to think we are old enough to have two nieces that have graduated from college. Courtney made #2 as she graduated as a valedictorian from Stillwater High School. She moves on to University of Colorado this Fall. We wish her well!
Oh my goodness. Where did the school year go? And who are these kids? Bren had a great year of 3rd grade. She liked her teacher Ms. Holbrook and vice versa. She had a great speech teacher in Ms. Stratton - she was new for Brenley this year. She excelled in her multiplication and division facts. Was well past her grade level in several categories. She really stepped up her leadership skills this year as her school was officially categorized as a Lighthouse school that lives by the 7 Habits.
Beau LOVED 8th grade. I think he liked being the top dog in school. He had a great year in sports and academics. He stayed focused, and has a great group of friends. I just am still in shock he starts high school in a few short months. And let me just add.......what a year of utter metamorphosis. Can you believe this is the same kid from August 2016????
