Easter 2015

I almost have too many pictures to post.  I made it my mission to take a lot of photos because the day was beautiful and I really need/want to update my canvas prints on my dining room wall.  And I love candid shots of the kids happy and smiling and playing - so I just kept snapping pictures and I think I got some great ones.

We had such a great time in Oklahoma playing with our cousins and enjoying the beautiful spring day and just being together.  The kids were tired and dirty, so I know they had a great day.

We started the day early at the Garber Easter Egg Hunt.
Ryan James was up first in the 3-4 division.
Brenley and Blake were together for the 7-9 year olds.
And Beau was solo in the 10-12.
And they were off! We were in it to win it!

Pre-Hunt

Waiting on Ryan's "heat" to start

Showing off his loot to his momma!

Counting their loot

Then it was back to Me Ma's house to play.  Kickball seemed to be the game of the day!

The old Dad's still got it!

And there were pups to be loved on.

And balls to be chased after.

Sis decided to join in on the fun!

And then there is this face......

The sons scheming......against their Dad's.

Great kick, bud!

Down and ready...... again..... this time....he means business.

And then there is this pure joy face....
Okay.  So what was next.....bunny holding, I guess.

Then it was egg hunting time.....
Here they come!

I super duper love this picture.

Cashing in their slips at the Easter "store."

Gimme, gimme, gimme!

Okay.....let's see......oh yeah......now it's time for the Cascarones aka confetti egg smashing!

This one is my favorite. Me Ma broke an egg on Ryan's head, well, attempted to break an egg on his head, but it was a hard one.  And it made Ryan go "Ouch, Grandma! That hurt!"

And here Grandma proceeded to laugh.......I love this woman.

Poor Dylan.

He wants to get Dad.

Run Brady!

After the egg smashing, the kids stayed outside and played some more. They had a grand time. The big kids came inside to eat and watch basketball. It was a full day.  Loved every fast minute of it.

Here are some pictures of the Kids hunting eggs in McPherson on Sunday! Kids got to see both grandparents which is always a treat. And they got more candy and money, so that's considered a double bonus!

Happy Easter and He is Risen indeed!  So blessed for a beautiful weekend with our family.

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday and we woke up to a bit of a different day. No school for the kids because of a power outage from last nights storm. Lots of businesses and homes were also without power, but luckily we were not one of them.

So we are all home today, I guess!

Found this on Brenley's whiteboard this week. Always the artist.

And sneaking in this pic of her and the Easter bunny. Love the colors in this picture!

Here are some flowers from our yard. Everything is coming up so pretty right now.

And here is our house with the newly painted trim! I love it! We also got our back deck restrained and our concrete re-glossed so our backyard is looking beautiful as well. So happy with how everything came out.

Ribbie

Oh RBI; Ribbie;  Ribbie Trey Grant.

Everyone reading this.....let it be known.....I am IN LOVE with this dog.  Like hook, line, and sinker. Smitten.  He gets away with murder, and I can't bring myself to scold him. He is so sweet, and such a little ornery puppy. I love every inch of him.

The kids do too, and don't let him fool you, Dad thinks he is pretty great too.

I can't remember if it was Beau or Brenley, but one of them said, he just completes our family. And he does.  It's that simple. He completes our family.

We got him neutered last week and that was a bit traumatic (for me), and him having to wear the cone of shame was heartbreaking, but he managed through it.  He has been home with me all week and I know he misses his friends at Playcare. But he got the green light to come back to play care next week, and he is healthy and ready to go!

As fitting to his name, he likes baseball.
He likes Brenley's babies.
He LOVES to sit on the porch and play watch guard.
He likes walks and sniffing poop.
Like a Grant, he LOVES to eat.  Nom Nom Nom - it's gone.
His new favorite pastime is waiting for me to drop food when I fix lunches in the morning or fix dinner in the evenings. Always at my feet.  He can snap up a cheesy Dorito chip faster than his brother Beau can, and that's saying something.

We love him, and he completes us.  He brings us a lot of joy, and broken toys, and a messy house.  We are learning to embrace all of it.
