We joined the Texas family at the annual Garber Easter Egg Hunt. It was a really great time. The weather was perfect (little windy, but warm and sunny). My brother and I had a great time laughing - sometimes at the expense of others.
The kids had a fun time also. Beau who had repeatedly told me he was too big to hunt eggs this year, amazingly, was ready and willing when he found out their could be money in the eggs.
Before we started the hunt, I gathered everyone together and said, listen kids, "You've got Levings' blood in you, and we are here to win. We are in it to win it." Keep that story in mind as you read down.

Okay, so the first hunt was the 0-2 division and Ryan James dominated that category. He ran over those babies that needed help from their parents picking up eggs. He saw eggs and scooped them up in his basket like a little man possessed. Unfortunately I got caught talking to someone, and I didn't get any pictures of him. But after the hunt was over, his Dad told him he was proud of him and he did a really good job hunting eggs. And I kid you not, he told his Dad that he was in it to win it.
My day had already been made by 11:00AM.
Next up was 3-4 age group. None of us in that one. Then Brenley's division was 5-6. We gave her a strategy to go long and she did. Pure bliss on her face when she found out she didn't have to stop at a certain number of eggs (like she had to at Northridge). No baby, you can pick up as many as you want. And boy did she ever.

None of the kids were grand prize winners, but we had a great time. The hunt was well organized and it was a lot of fun to see our competitive kids in action.
