Turkey Trot
We had a Thanksgiving Feast with the cutest pre-schoolers today. Mama Grant brought the turkey and potatoes and Brian and I watched a lot of cute kiddo's gobble up food.

Micro Basketball league for the "B" girl
So we are trying to figure out what it is that Brenley just loves. Is it Dance? Cheer? Gymnastics? Soccer? Baseball? Basketball? After her recent stint in the YMCA Micro-Basketball league....I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, competitive sports? Hmm.....not so much.
I took an awesome picture of her trying to guard another little girl, and she literally ducked her head and put her hands on her head after the little girl shot the ball because she didn't want to get hit. I took that picture with another photo program, so I need to figure out how to upload it on here. For now, here she is on the bench. She had already been in the game, and for some reason, watching her teammates wasn't near as entertaining as the conversation she was having with herself.

Dr. in action
Brenley got in serious trouble tonight for disobeying. As a result, she got the TV and iPad taken away for the evening. And as a result of that, she has had to kick charge her imagination and play with Mom and Dad and brother.
Here she is taking care of her Dad after he skinned his knee running this morning. His ouchie bothered her.

Beau's last 4th grade football game
Well, it is always a little bittersweet when something comes to an end, but also a part of me that is glad it is over. We've watched games in hot heat, extreme cold, crazy wind, and rain -- all in a short 2 1/2 month time period.
Bottom line, I am so proud of my boy and his team. They ended the season 4-4-1 and really had luck been a little on our side, it should have been a 6-3 season.
Beau earned the center position and he did a stellar job. Loved watching those little sausage fingers one hand snap the ball.
Here he is with his teammates post game this afternoon. He was also a captain for the last game today. #31. My heart.

Halloween 2012
I always stress about coming up with unique costumes for the kids each year for Halloween. It was so easy when I got to pick them, but now those darn kids have an opinion, so I have to work around that part as well!!! But this year they made it super easy on me and Beau chose to be a baseball player (only purchase was a Miguel Cabrera t-shirt), and sister wanted to be a doctor (chosen mostly because of her new favorite show Doc McStuffins).
Beau celebrated his school party last Friday and sister had her school party on Halloween. And then of course, we went out in our new neighborhood Halloween night with some of Beau's buddies from our old neighborhood. Our new neighborhood was AWESOME! Margarita's at one house for the adults, grilled hot dogs at another house, decorations all over the yard, and even some teenage girls "playing dead" in their front yard. It was scary, but super fun!!
Here is Brenley at her class party and parade. Her friends are so cute too.
And here are pictures from Beau's school party.
And finally our night out in the neighborhood!

The parade. He was too quick for me to get a better shot!
Trying to "mummify" their friend Garrett. He and this girl were terrible at this.

This is Beau's buddy Trevor and his little brother, Braden. Trevor was an Alien and Braden was Luigi.
I liked this. May have to look for one of these next year for our yard!
At this point, she was a little scared of the girls laying in the front yard playing dead! Me too, Sis!

OKC Thunder Exhibition Game
Beau was one happy boy last night. He got to go with Dad to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks Exhibition game last night at the Intrust Bank Arena. He said it was a great time and was one tired boy when he got home. Brian loves taking him to these events. He is really getting into the games now. Good bonding time for my boys.

Brenley Parent Teacher Conference
Brenley had her first preschool parent teacher conference. I couldn't attend, but Dad took good notes. Here are the highlights.
1. Her writing has improved from the first day of school until today. She writes her name soooo well!!! She also does what she is told. Ms.Darla told her to write her A,B,C,D's and 1,2,3's and that is exactly what she wrote. Nothing more. Nothing less (even though Ms. Darla meant the entire alphabet and numbers to 10).
2. While she does listen to directions, she also knows what is right and wrong. She knew not to color the fox's tail white even though she wasn't specifically told not too. Ms. Darla told her two days before she colored the paper that fox's have white tails. Look at the picture below. Tails are white!
3. In a separating blocks exercise, she gave more blocks to Ms. Darla then herself because "Ms. Darla is her friend."
4. She also can give explicit instruction on stringing beads. They practice in her class to improve eye hand coordination, but she could teach the Class according to Ms. Darla. Just ask her next time you see her.
My little rock star. Oh how we love that smartie pants!!
Sorry the pictures are out of order. Blogging via mobile phone again! Saves me so much time.
